Mrs. Patty LaTouche
Hi! I am Patty LaTouche, and this will be my 19th year at Pearland High School and 34th year in education. I am proud to share that my three children, Michael, Justin, and Rochelle, graduated from Pearland High School. My husband, Mike, and I were so pleased at the quality of education they received that we became a part of the Pearland ISD family, as did my daugher-in-law Alyssa. Speaking of family, all my children have college degrees (2 Aggies and 1 Cougar), are married, and have blessed us with four grandchildren: Abbey, Maddy, Charlie, and Michael. Two of them are future Pearland ISD students.
Personally, I absolutely enjoy spending time with family anywhere, but especially at our beach house in Galveston. This includes my parents, my brothers (PHS graduates) and their families, as well as extended family - and I have a lot of extended family...nearly 50 first cousins. Every get-together is like a family reunion. I also have three dogs: 2 Yorkies, Pippin and Duke, and Rose Marie, our Chihuahua rescue.
Professionally, I enjoy education and all that goes with it. I learned very early in my teaching career that if I can reach students, everything else will follow. This means that it is my responsibility to convince students that I genuinely care about them as a whole - that they are safe with me - that I will be honest with them - that I will walk with them hand-in-hand until they are ready to walk independently - although I will still be there to catch them if they need me. And when they are focused on their futures and their newfound sense of selves, I will be proud of them as they stretch their wings and soar.
Facilitating high school students to become the best version of themselves is the most gratifying job in the world. Wherever they need assistance - as a person, as a student, as a citizen, as a son or daughter, etc. - "Whatever It Takes!" is my motto.
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I look forward to working with students and parents of this great community! Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your student's educational life.
