Mrs. Lisa Pierce

"Thought is the blossom; language the bud; action the fruit." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

When I was a student at the University of Houston, I began my lifelong study and love of the English language and literature. I took a little detour on my journey to teaching English, though. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Houston, then began my career as a teacher in the private school sector teaching performing arts and music. Several years later, I returned to study English at the University of Houston, Clear-Lake and was certified for ELA 8-12. I joined the Pearland High School faculty in 2009 and have been teaching Pre-AP English II since 2011, adding AP English III to my schedule in 2012. I dearly love to read, travel, bake, and spend time with my family, and believe it or not, I thoroughly enjoy my classes and my students!

I look forward to meeting my students and parents and anticipate a wonderful year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding the course or your student's progress.
