Mrs. Lana Colvin
I have been teaching since 2006. I began my teaching career as a 7th/8th grade math teacher at Pearland Jr. High East. I taught there for two years before transferring to Berry Miller when it opened up in 2008. I taught math here at Berry Miller for 6 years before I decided to stay home with my teenaged kids for one year. I returned in 2015 as an Inclusion Specialist for Special Education.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for 14 years in foster care and residential treatment as a case manager. I earned my bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in 1992 and my Masters of Social Work from the University of Houston in 1999.
But, now let me talk to you a minute about this new normal we're calling "Distance Learning." I will do everything I can to make this as positive an experience as it can be. I will miss seeing you every day in class, but hopefully we can stay connected using some conference call apps that I'm looking into using. I want to make sure that you continue to learn and grow during this time, but I also want to use this as an opportunity to make this a fun and enriching experience as well. I'm learning along with you, and as we learn together, we'll find ways to keep in touch and support each other. Miss you guys a bunch! Happy Distance Learning!
