Coach J. (Jaramillo)

Welcome to Physical Education 2022-23 Lawhon DOLPHINS!!!

A little about me: J is short for Jaramillo. I graduated from Dickinson High School where I was involved in Choir, Track and Field, Cross Country, and Colorguard, and was fortunate to march in the UIL State Competition my senior year. After having children and working in secretarial positions for awhile, I took a position  as a paraprofessional at Brookwood Elementary and then went to a brand new elementary school called Hyde Elementary School in Clear Creek ISD. As a paraprofessional, my principal, John Myer, encouraged me to go back to college to become a certified teacher as I continued to work for Hyde. I graduated from University of Houston, Main Campus in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Science (Kinesiology), Movement/Sports Science. I started at Lawhon Elementary School in 2005-2010, then went to Cockrell for 4 years and then returned to Lawhon. I am starting my 17th year with the District and 10 years in Clear Creek ISD.  I have coached Track and Field at the High School level, and Cross Country/Track and Field at the Intermediate for Clear Creek ISD.

My hobbies are running, cycling, swimming, zumba, reading, and going to the beach and listening to the waves. I belong to the running group called Pearland Area Road Runners, the ones that you see in bright orange shirts around Pearland.  I have participated in numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, 1/2 Marathons, and Full Marathons. I am known as a legacy runner (running the Aramco 1/2 Marathon for 10 or more years now. I participated, for the 2nd year in a row, in the Shadow Creek Ranch Duathlon where you run, cycle, run. I have also participated in a few triathlons which consist of 3 sports: swimming, cycling, and running.

I have three adult children. Their names are Kortni, who works at Wild Pear Running Store in Pearland, Max, who works for (ASR) All Star Revolution, and Jessika, who is a cake maker, of Imagination Cakes, by Jessika. Jessika has four children, and my son, Max and his wife, Brittany, who is a 1st grade teacher this year, have taught for 9 years, and their daughter, my granddaughter named Finley Rae, who is now 3 years old.

My conference is from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at jaramillok@pearlandisd.org or call me at 281-412-1445.
