Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Jones

My name is Jill Jones, and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist at Silvercrest Elementary.

I grew up in the Houston area, and graduated from the University of Houston with my Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Communication Disorders.  I worked for five years at the Center for Hearing and Speech prior to working in the public schools.  I then worked for 12 years in Pasadena ISD at a variety of campuses, as a supervisor, as a district representative to the District Deaf-Ed Coop, as a part I have been at Silvercrest Elementary since the fall of 2013.

I live in the Pearland area with my husband and children.  I have been married to my husband for 25 years.  My daughter is a Sophomore (soon to be a Junior) at Lamar Univeristy.  My son is a Junior in high school.

In my speech room, we work hard to accomplish our speech and language goals, but I also love to keep things as fun as possible.  I do occasionally send activities to work on at home because I’m a big believer that students who practice their skills frequently outside of school will make faster progress.  I also want them to practice being successful at home so I will send home things that they have been successful on.  Please be patient if you don’t receive homework right away.  Periodically, homework may be electronic so if you did not provide your email in Skyward, please let me know so I can send homework home in this way.  I find that students respond better sometimes to electronic homework as opposed to pencil and paper.

If you have any questions at all throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me.
