My name is Tara Meraz and I am the School Counselor here at Carleston Elementary! I am so excited to be here and looking forward to another incredible year! This will be my 18th year in Education. Before I was a Counselor I was a Teacher. I taught Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, Resource, and 1st Grade. I have also served as an In-Home and Parent Trainer  for families of children with Autism. I am passionate about helping all children reach their full potential not only academically but also personally, socially, and emotionally.

This year I will provide mental health resources for parents, students. I will help build resiliency skills by teaching lessons on Self Awareness, Self Managment, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making. I will provide our students with the necessary social skills and give them opportunities to practice those skills in a safe enviornment.
