Mrs. Casey Streater

Welcome to Special Education at Rustic Oak Elementary! This is my 6th year here at Rustic Oak and 2nd year teaching Special Education Resource & Inclusion. Prior to coming to Rustic Oak, I taught 2nd for 2 years at Savannah Lakes Elementary, and was a Math Intervention/ Special Education paraprofessional at Wilder Elementary.

I have been happily married for 16 years to my husband, Jessie, and we have a son named Gavin, who will be attending Pearland High School this year as a Freshman.  Before working in education, I worked for 8 years in an orthopedic animal hospital. This just increased my love for animals and helped grow our pet family. We have a 12 year old boxer named Dori, a 4 year old boxer named Iggy, and our baby (not so much anymore) boxer puppy named dot who keeps us constantly on our toes.

When we aren’t at the baseball park, my family enjoys working on home projects, crafting and Gavin has recently taken up bmx biking, and really enjoys it. I enjoy long distance running and am currently training for my 4th  55 hour snowdrop ultra race in December. This will be my 3rd attempt at completing a 100 mile race solo in 55 hours. Last year I finished my first 100 miles in record high temperatures for December, in 53 hours. I hope to reduce that time this year and complete my 2nd 100 mile race.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to join and run for the Snowdrop Foundation Team. The Snowdrop Foundation works closely with Texas Children's Hospital to provide assistance and bring awareness to Childhood Cancer. It is such an honor to be part of this team and support the children and families who are battling cancer.

I’m so excited about this school year and being able to support my students & their families, alongside their teachers.
