Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
My name is Joy Jenkins and I am an English I / Reading I teacher and the Assistant Cheerleading Coach at Dawson High School. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Education (2015) and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education (2017). This is my fourth year teaching and coaching at Dawson High School.
My goal is for your child to be successful in communicating and problem-solving, as well as develop the necessary skills to better prepare for their later years in high school. As an educator, I share my love for learning and creativity, as well as provide a safe environment for all of my students.
I am originally from La Grange, TX and I enjoy spending my free time outdoors (running, hiking, fishing, and gardening), in the gym, or working on my Etsy Shop. I was recently married in December 2019 and my new name is Mrs. Jenkins. My husband and I spend our weekends all over Texas and enjoy floating the river in San Marcos during the summer.
