Mrs. Celia G. Rodriguez

My name is Celia G. Rodriguez.  This is my 14th year teaching.  I am from Nuevo, Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, but I was raised in Laredo, Texas.  I have an older brother and sister as well as a younger sister.  I have a big extended family and we are all scatted over Texas.  I became a teacher because my teachers always helped me believe in myself and always encouraged me to reach my potential.  I hope to be as great as the teachers that crossed my path.  I especially want to emulate my mentor teacher Mrs. San Juanita Lopez whom I met when I was her student in the 7th grade.  I am blessed to have her in my life.  She always makes me see the good in everything.  I wish I could multiply her, so every student knows what it is like to be loved and cared for.  I have big shoes to fill, but I strive to make sure my students feel safe and cared for in my classroom.  I have been married for 12 years and my husband and I have two boys ages 12 and 8 and our little girl is 7.  They are the love of my life.  Everything I do is to make sure my little family is happy.  I am so honored to be your teacher this year.  I know this new normal can be a bit much, but rest assure that we will get through this together.  Let us take life’s lemons and make a tasty lemonade together.
