The UIL Math Team competes annually in the Spring during the District wide UIL Academics meet.
Students interested in joining the team can join the remind using the code @pearmath.
We typically begin building the team during the Spring semester, if you are looking to prepare in advance please look through the resources below to see which competitions you would be interested in.
Categories include:
Number Sense - an open-answer, mental math competition in which we submit up to 4 individual students (and 2 alternates) who will do a speed test without writing anything but the answers.
Calculator - an open-answer test that is scored on an individual and team basis for up to 4 students (and 2 alternates) covering calculator skills through Calculus. Students are allowed to use nSpires and will need to be incredibly familiar with a variety of functions.
General Math - a multiple choice test scored on an individual and team basis for up to 4 students (and 2 alternates) covering math skills through Calculus.
