Welcome back Silverlake Stars! It’s going to be a fantastic school year! I am excited to be joining the amazing team at Silverlake Elementary School and am looking forward to seeing our campus bustling with energy and activity again!
It is very important to keep the lines of communication flowing between students, parents and teachers and I can’t wait to team up with you and guide our stars through a successful school year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or concerns that you might have throughout the year.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Houston – Clear Lake and am pursuing Teaching Certifications in Elementary Education Early Childhood – 6th and Special Education. This is my first year of teaching full time and my third year of working in Pearland ISD. I started the journey back to teaching two years ago at Cockrell Elementary in a STAAR Tutor position and then last year at Silverlake Elementary as an Instructional Aide in Life Skills. I thoroughly enjoy everything about the learning process from the small successes to the big “A-ha” moments. I love to make learning fun! My goal is to work with the students in a way that prepares them to achieve their highest potential, both academically and as a member of their community.
My family and I have lived in the Pearland area since 2003. I have been married for 18 years to a wonderful man, Norbert, and we have two children; a daughter, Maxine, 16, who loves to swim and competes on the Rice Aquatics USA swim team, and the Varsity Swim and Water Polo Teams at Dawson High School. We also have a son, Alexander, 13, who plays on the basketball, football, and track teams at Berry Miller Junior High School. We all adore our two furry babies, a Shih Tzu named Augustus Muffins, aka “Gus Gus” and a sweet Pomeranian named “Coco”. We are blessed to live in such an incredible community of people. I have enjoyed many years serving on various committees and philanthropies such as Beta Sigma Phi, National Charity League, Pearland Pirates, PTA, Massey Ranch Elementary PTA President 2013-2015, Parliamentarian, Hospitality Committee at Rogers Middle School and Berry Miller Junior High, VP of Fundraising at Berry Miller Junior High. It is always a pleasure to serve in our community and to work with goal oriented energetic individuals.
A few of my favorite downshift activities are spending time with family and friends, reading books, mindful meditation, watching movies and visiting new places!
