Degrees and Certifications:

BA of English with Honors from the University of Texas

Lindy Goodwin

I am glad to be a part of the Oiler family! I was born and raised in Lake Jackson, Texas, and I attended Brazoswood High School. I graduated from the University of Texas with a BA with honors in English and a minor in Public Relations.  Prior to teaching, I worked as a public relations account manager for a PR agency.

I began my teaching career in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school district as an eighth-grade teacher of English, humanities, and yearbook. After moving back to the Houston area, I took a teaching position with Clear Lake High School, where I taught primarily AP English III and English III for 18 years.  I have had the opportunity to be an AP grader for the College Board for the last ten years. Last year, I moved to Pearland High School to be closer to my family as I have a son who attends PHS and a daughter who attends Pearland Junior High East. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors, particularly water sports.

I am excited about the new school year! My educational goals are to ensure that each student grows as an analytical reader, effective writer, and critical thinker.  Please feel free to contact me at with any questions.
