Overview: I am the newly named choral director at Berry Miller Jr. High School. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and know a lot about the community to which Miller belongs. For more than fifteen years, I have shared my love of music with public school students in Houston and Missouri City.
Organizations and Memberships: I am a dedicated member (and past chorus manager) of the Houston Ebony Opera Guild chorus and St. James’ Episcopal Church choir. I also sing with various local churches throughout the year for special events. I enjoy serving on campus and district-level committees and have written three levels of music curriculum in two districts.
Hobbies: I devote my spare time to singing, reading, and sometimes playing the Sims. I also enjoy clothes shopping and beach trips with my youngest daughter, Maddie, and with my husband. Equally, it is always a delight to receive a visit or a FaceTime call from any of my three grown-up children and I especially love seeing my two granddaughters.
Educational Philosophy: I value hard work, perseverance, and healthy relationships. My primary philosophy of education is that all children can learn and that not all children learn the same. It is at the heart of every great educator to ensure each child is afforded the opportunity to be good at something. I am relentless in my pursuit of excellence and look forward to further developing the choral department at Berry Miller Jr. High in Pearland. I have many wonderful things in store for our choral programs. GO BOBCATS!!!
