Mrs. Gretchen Meyer

Mrs. Gretchen Meyer, M. Ed.
Gretchen Meyer has an extensive career as an educator. She has taught in and around the greater Houston area since 1998. Mrs. Meyer has taught all grades from second through tenth, and while ELA has been the focus on much of her professional work, theatre is her first love.
Mrs. Meyer was an active thespian in high school and during her undergraduate years. She believes that it is through the arts that we are most fully able to understand ourselves as humans and our role in society. She is excited to be teaching theatre at Pearland Junior High South. All three of Mrs. Meyer's children were diamondbacks at one point and she is thrilled to be part of the culture at PJHS.
All of Mrs. Meyer's family is, or has been, involved in theatre. Her three children have all participated in the arts at PJHS. Her eldest son is currently studying to be a voice actor. Mrs. Meyer's husband is also an active member of the local theatre community, serving as the technical director at College of the Mainland and frequently designing lights and sets for local theatre companies.
You will not find a bigger supporter of the arts than Mrs. Meyer. Much of her professional philosophy has been built around the famous Einstein quote: "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand."
You may reach Mrs. Meyer by email at, meyerg@pearlandisd.org.
Her conference period is third period, from 10:54 - 11:45.
