Welcome to PAP Computer Science
All course content can be found in Canvas
Welcome to the PAP Computer Science (PAPCS) Course. As we share the terminology and techniques you need to be successful, we ask that you get a composition journal dedicated to PAPCS.
We will use this often throughout the year for key vocabulary, logic structures, and sample code models. When we recommend you take notes, capture them in this journal!
During the 1st semester, we will introduce you to common terminology and logic models through the use of the online Scratch programming environment. This is a colorful, block-based, drag-and-drop platform. You'll join your instructor's classroom and work fully online on the website.
Next, we will finish the semester with an introduction to Python Coding. We have a fully online system that includes your eBook, course resources, and a coding environment - all web-based!
For the 2nd semester, we will learn how to code our programs in Java. Here again, we will use the new online system that includes your eBook, course resources, and a coding environment - all web-based! Continue your note-taking in this semester as your coding journal will come in handy in the APCS or the APCSP course for which this is the prerequisite.
