DHS Wind Ensemble Wins State Honor Band Competition

The Dawson High School (DHS) wind ensemble won the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) state honor band competition in July after sweeping regional and area competitions.

The varsity band, under the direction of Aaron Brown, is the first 6A band in the entire Houston area to ever win this highest state honor.

“The Dawson wind ensemble worked tirelessly to get to where they are and I am beyond proud of their achievements,” Tom Bell, Pearland Independent School District fine arts director said. “I look forward to them having a great Honor Band concert.”
