Pearland ISD Announces Key Leadership Appointments
Pearland Independent School District is pleased to announce the appointment of two experienced and dedicated leaders. Dr. Charles Allen has been appointed the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and Dr. Sundie Dahlkamp has been named the Assistant Superintendent of Talent and Engagement.
Dr. Charles Allen served Pearland ISD for the past 19 years, most recently as the executive director of Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to this role, he served as the principal of Pearland Junior High East for seven years. Dr. Allen is also a former United States Air Force Combat Weather Forecaster.
“I’m incredibly grateful and honored to continue serving the students, staff, and families of Pearland ISD in this new role,” Dr. Allen said. “I look forward to continuing our mission of excellence in teaching and learning throughout this great district.”
Dr. Allen holds an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in teaching from the University of Houston.
Dr. Dahlkamp brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted commitment to Pearland ISD. A proud graduate of Pearland High School, she has dedicated her 24-year career in education to the district. Beginning her journey as a communication applications teacher at her alma mater for seven years, Dr. Dahlkamp transitioned to human resources, serving as an HR specialist before becoming the director then executive director of Human Resource Services and Communications.
“I love this district. It has made me into the person I am today,” Dr. Dahlkamp said. “I’m so honored to be in a position to support our employees and the community every day.”
Dr. Dahlkamp holds a doctorate degree in educational leadership and a master’s degree in educational administration, both from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas A&M University.
These appointments are effective immediately and underscore Pearland ISD’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both its staff and students, ensuring continued excellence in education.
