Pearland ISD Culinary and Management Teams Excel at Texas ProStart Invitational

Both Dawson High School and Robert Turner College & Career High School ProStart teams delivered a historic performance at the 2026 Texas ProStart Invitational recently held in Waco. Competing against more than 900 of the state’s top high school students, the Pearland Independent School District teams secured top-tier honors in both primary competition tracks and several individual categories.

ProStart is a nationwide high school program that reaches nearly 140,000 students in more than 1,800 schools across 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Territory of Guam. From culinary techniques to management skills, ProStart’s industry-driven curriculum provides students with a platform to build successful careers in the hospitality industry.

Robert Turner College & Career High School Results:
  • Management Team - 1st place, State Champions
  • Daniel Videau – 1st place in Design a Dumpling
  • Culinary Team - 3rd place
Dawson High School Results:
  • Natalie Potase - 1st place in No-Bake Desserts
  • Abigayle Veal - 1st place in Burgers Without Borders
  • David Ci - 2nd place in the Coca-Cola Refresher Challenge

With these victories, the Pearland ISD Management students have officially qualified to represent the state of Texas at the National ProStart Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 24.
