Pearland Independent School District is proud to announce it has earned an “A” (Superior Achievement) rating on the 2024–25 Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, the highest possible score awarded by the Texas Education Agency.

This top rating reflects Pearland ISD’s strong financial management, transparency, and stewardship of taxpayer dollars. The FIRST rating system, established by TEA, ensures that Texas public schools are held accountable for the quality of their financial practices, promoting efficient use of resources to support student learning.

“This achievement highlights our district’s ongoing commitment to responsible fiscal oversight,” Dr. Larry Berger, Pearland ISD Superintendent, said. “We are dedicated to ensuring that every dollar is spent wisely in support of our students, staff, and community.”

The FIRST rating is based on an in-depth review of over 20 financial indicators, including fund balance levels, administrative cost ratios, and accuracy in financial reporting. An “A” rating confirms that Pearland ISD not only meets but exceeds the state’s standards for financial integrity and accountability. Pearland ISD Chief Financial Officer, Thu Pham, added, “Earning this rating year after year demonstrates the strong financial policies and procedures we’ve put in place. It’s a testament to the hard work of our finance team and the leadership of our Board of Trustees.”

This recognition aligns with Pearland ISD’s mission to prepare all learners to achieve their highest potential while maintaining fiscal responsibility and transparency.
