Pearland ISD Makes History: All Three High Schools Compete at State Academic Decathlon

For the first time ever, Dawson, Pearland, and Turner High Schools all represented Pearland ISD at the Thomas E. Moseley Academic Decathlon State Competition in San Antonio, TX from February 27 – March 1. Students won a combined 25 individual medals with 9 district students earning scholarships. Pearland High School’s third place win grants each team member a $500 scholarship. Additionally, Esteban Vela (PHS) with a 5th place Overall Individual finish in the Large School Scholastic division earned an additional $500 scholarship, and Ryleigh Rich (TCCHS) earned a $750 scholarship for a 4th place Overall Individual finish in the Medium School Varsity division.
