Pearland ISD Middle School Named Top-Performing CIS Campus
Pearland ISD along with Communities In Schools of Brazoria and Southeast County (CIS) is thrilled to announce that Sablatura Middle School in Pearland ISD has been selected as one of the top-performing campuses implementing the CIS model. This recognition comes as a true testament to Site Coordinator Timothy Haynes's belief in the CIS mission: to surround students with a community of support empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. "Giving my very best to our students and families gives me great joy. Doing so takes a village, but I am honored to be a part of this distinguished recognition."
Sablatura Middle School's CIS program has demonstrated exceptional performance and was identified by an external evaluator (RMC Research and APA Consulting) requested by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), using various data as part of an ongoing, three-year evaluation. Only nine CIS sites are identified throughout Texas. TEA hopes to learn best practices from the campus and Haynes by conducting in-person site visits and interviewing district administrators, the principal, support focus groups, a teacher focus group and a parent focus group.
"We are incredibly honored that our CIS program, located at Sablatura Middle School, has been selected as a top-performing campus implementing the CIS model," said Rebecca Decker, COO of CIS. “This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of Mr. Haynes, Sablatura's principal, Ms. Tipton, staff, and students.”
Principal Tipton added that she is proud of their students and grateful for the support from the CIS program. "CIS continues to impact the lives of our students and families positively,” she said.
Sablatura and CIS remain dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, Pearland ISD and CIS remain committed to ensuring student success and building Pearland proud.
