Pearland ISD Senior Awarded Prestigious STEAM Scholarship

Noah Byers Scholarship

Pearland Independent School District is thrilled to announce that Noah Byars, a graduating senior from Dawson High School, was named one of only ten recipients of the inaugural Daikin's Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship. This prestigious award, presented by Daikin Comfort Technologies and the Astros Foundation, grants Byars a $10,000 scholarship to support his continued education in STEAM fields—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

His achievements throughout high school truly exemplify the caliber of students in Pearland ISD. Byars actively participated in NASA’s internship program, showcased his skills in robotics competitions, and was a dedicated member of the National Society of Black Engineers Junior Chapter. Beyond his academic pursuits, he demonstrated a strong commitment to community service, volunteering at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research Foundation and Space Center Houston.

This fall, Byars will attend Purdue University to pursue a degree in planetary science and geology, a testament to his passion for scientific exploration.

The Daikin's Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship recognizes students not only for their academic excellence in STEAM but also for their contributions both inside and outside the classroom. Pearland ISD is grateful to Daikin and the Astros Foundation for their commitment to investing in the future of talented students, helping to cultivate the next generation of creative and innovative thinkers right here in Pearland.
