Pearland ISD Welding Team Earns Reserve Grand Champion at Inaugural San Antonio Build-Off Challenge

Pearland ISD is proud to announce that the Pearland Welding Build-Off Team secured the prestigious Reserve Grand Champion title at the Inaugural San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Ag Mechanics Build-Off Challenge, held last Friday. This outstanding achievement also earned the team a coveted spot in the upcoming Texas High School Welding Series State Build-Off Competition.

Team members Thomas Preston, Rolando DeLeon, Jase Cortazar, and Manual Cuevas demonstrated advanced welding skills and exceptional teamwork in the highly competitive field, firmly establishing Pearland ISD among the elite welding programs in Texas.

“This is a proud moment for Pearland ISD and a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students and educators,” Howard Rose, Welding Teacher at Turner College and Career High School said. “Their success reflects the strength of our CTE programs and our commitment to developing workforce-ready graduates.”
