Pearland Junior High West Named Top Middle School Art Program by Fort Worth Rodeo

Pearland Junior High West named Top Middle School Art Program

Pearland Junior High West was named the recipient of this year’s prestigious Junior High Classroom Art Program Award by the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

Unlike individual accolades, this honor recognizes the collective "body of work" produced by a campus. This victory keeps the title within the district for another year, following Berry Miller Junior High’s win in 2025.

The award comes with significant resources to further the school’s creative mission:
  • $5,000 Grant for the campus art program.
  • $1,000 Bonus provided by Whataburger.
  • The “Bragging Rights” Trophy, which will be displayed prominently on campus for the remainder of the year.
While the award celebrates the program, the following students were instrumental in representing the high caliber of work produced at PJHW:
  • Abigail Liang – 7th Grade
  • Rena Chen – 8th Grade
  • Cathy Gu – 8th Grade
  • Violet Haddock – 8th Grade
  • Katherine Yang – 8th Grade
  • Alice Zhang – 8th Grade

This recognition highlights the dedication of the Pearland Independent School District’s art teachers and commitment to fostering a robust Fine Arts curriculum that empowers students to compete at the highest levels.
