Pearland Oilers Capture Fourth UIL 6A Division 1 State Championship

The Pearland Oilers softball team solidified its legacy as one of the state's premier powerhouses defeating nationally ranked Waco Midway Panthers 6-3 to claim the University Interscholastic League State Championship.
The victory marks the fourth state title in the program's storied history, adding another prestigious trophy to a collection that includes championship wins in 1996, 2010, and 2023.
"This championship is the culmination of a remarkable season defined by grit, teamwork, and execution," Michelle Hyden, head softball coach, said. "Defeating a team of Midway's caliber on this stage speaks volumes about the character and dedication of our athletes."
With this win, Pearland celebrates its eighth historic appearance at the UIL State Tournament, following stellar runs in 1995, 1996, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2023, and 2026.
