PHS Celebrates Seniors Hired Through Petrochemical Career Program

BCPC Students

Five talented seniors from Pearland High School have officially launched their careers, securing coveted job offers through the Brazoria County Petrochemical Council’s (BCPC) Career Signing Day program. Following a demanding interview process with top contractor companies in the region, these students are poised to enter high-demand, well-compensated positions within the thriving petrochemical industry.

Aaron Ennis, BCPC Signing Day Chair, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, “This isn't simply a job, it's the beginning of a transformative journey for these young individuals. They are embarking on career paths that promise financial security, opportunities for advancement, and a promising future. We are immensely proud to facilitate this connection between these bright students and companies eager to invest in their potential.”

The five seniors distinguished themselves through a competitive selection process that included a thorough application, as many as four interviews with prospective contractor companies, and a comprehensive evaluation of their academic performance and personal accomplishments.

The list includes:

Garrett Cloud, Gulf Coast Pipeline Services
Brycen Flanagan, Brask Inc.
Keaton Kennon, JVIC
Travis Pennica, Turner Industries
Matthew Shanks, JVIC

BCPC’s Career Signing Day initiative provides students with a direct pathway into vital skilled trades such as welding, pipefitting, and construction. These graduating seniors will transition immediately into paid on-the-job training programs, earning competitive wages and often pursuing valuable industry certifications. Since its inception, the Career Signing Day program has successfully connected over 300 students with direct entry into full-time careers within one of Texas’ most critical economic sectors. For many participants, this opportunity represents not just a first job, but a crucial first step towards lasting success and financial independence.
