Pearland ISD’s Rachael Welsh, librarian at Sablatura Middle School, has been named to Library Journal’s prestigious Movers & Shakers Class of 2026. Welsh is recognized in the Advocates category for her unwavering commitment to student literacy and her proactive efforts to support the local community through innovative library services.

This year marks a historic milestone for the awards, celebrating a quarter-century of honoring transformative work in the library field. The 2026 Movers & Shakers cohort arrives during a significant year for the industry, coinciding with Library Journal’s 150th anniversary.
