Pearland ISD Teachers Earn $1.5 Million in TIA Funding Following TEA Approval
164 Pearland ISD teachers are celebrating a major achievement! The Texas Education Agency fully approved the district's Teacher Incentive Allotment designation system generating $1,552,000 in allotment funds to go towards teacher compensation.
The TIA, made possible by House Bill 3, recognizes high-performing educators with the opportunity to earn six-figure salaries. It also helps districts like Pearland ISD attract and keep talented teachers in all schools.
These TIA designations, which are valid for five years and will be noted on the teachers' certifications, will provide extra pay. The specific amount each designated teacher receives will vary based on their designation level and the socioeconomic factors of the campus where they teach.
“This TIA designation truly reflects the hard work and unwavering dedication of our team," Pearland ISD Superintendent Dr. Larry Berger said. "Because of this program, we're thrilled to provide well-deserved additional compensation to our exceptional teachers who consistently go the extra mile for our students.”
