Enrollment

The required enrollment documents to upload are:

• Deed or current home lease in parent’s name (current Pearland ISD property tax statement may be used in place of deed to home; apartment lease must list parent as lessee and student as occupant)
• Current utility bill (water, gas, electric) with correct address of residence in parent’s name
• Photo ID of parent enrolling student (current valid, state, federal or international photo ID)
• Birth certificate showing parent enrolling student named as parent (official preferred, certified copy acceptable)
  ~ Certified birth certificates can be ordered online from
  https://txapps.texas.gov/tolapp/ovra/index.htm.
• Immunization record (official)
• Child’s Social Security card (SSN is recommended but not required. A student who does not provide or have a SSN will be assigned a state identification number)

If personal circumstances make it impossible for you to provide the required residency documents during enrollment, please continue to the online enrollment. Fill out the student residency questionnaire contained in the online enrollment to clarify the personal circumstances which prevent you from providing the required residency documentation. A representative from Pearland ISD will contact you with further instructions.

Student age is calculated as of September 1 of the current academic year.

• Pre-Kindergarten students must be age 4 on or before September 1 as well as meet at least one of the eligibility requirements for PK.
• Kindergarten students must be age 5 on or before September 1.

• Be four (4) years of age on or before September 1st and,
• Students must meet one of the eligibility criteria below to qualify for the pre-kindergarten program:
  • Limited English Proficient: Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language. (Eligibility is based on results of Language Testing)
  • Educationally Disadvantaged: Eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), including students who receive any of the following benefits:
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, (SNAP)
    • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Foster Care or Previously in Foster Care: Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Placement Authorization Form 2085, Court Order, or DFPS Letter of Verification required.
  • Homeless: Children who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence and/or who are sharing housing with others due to the loss of housing, economic hardship or a similar reason may qualify. Student Residency and Assistance Questionnaire (SRQ) required.
  • Military Families: The child of a parent who is an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority or the child of a parent of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
  • Star of Service Award: The child’s parent/guardian has received the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, firefighter, or an emergency medical first responder.
  • Classroom Teacher:  the child's parent must be employed as a classroom teacher in the school district (student and parent must enroll in the SAME district where the parent teaches)

You must attend the school that your address is zoned for.   Use the SchoolSearch link to determine the correct school.

• I have more than one student in the district, do I need to do this for each student?
  Yes, you need to provide information for each student.  When you have finished and submitted the first application, then you will need to click Enroll New Student and complete another application.
• I've completed the application for my student, now what?
  When you complete the submit button, this will send the information to the student's school.  You will be sent a confirmation email.   The campus registrar will process and verify the registration by reviewing the information and the documents uploaded.  Once the application has been approved, the registrar will contact the parent to determine when the student will start.
• I live with someone else and I am not on the deed or lease; how can I enroll my student?
  You must complete a Residency Affidavit.  Please reference this page for more information.
• Who do I contact for technical difficulties with login or the enrollment portal?
  Contact Skyward Support at skyward_support@pearlandisd.org.

New families to Pearland ISD must request a login to begin their online enrollment in Skyward.  Enrollments must be completed by the legal parent/guardian of the student.
