  • DHS Team Competes at UIL Academic State Meet

    Dawson High School recently participated in the 2023 UIL Academic State Meet in spelling and literary criticism. Both teams representing the school placed third in their category. At the UIL academic meet, participants earned points for their school team in different subject areas.

    Dawson, Pearland and Turner College and Career high school seniors are preparing to march to “Pomp and Circumstance” and toss their mortar boards this May 26. The three high schools will hold graduation ceremonies at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Friday, May 26.

  • All-A Banquet honors students with top grades

    High school students with top grades took a bow during the All-A Banquet hosted by the Pearland Independent School District on May 9. During the annual banquet, board members and district officials honored high school students who have achieved the highest grades possible in all classes for three and four years.

    Pearadox Competes at the FIRST Robotics World Championship

    Pearland Independent School District’s robotics team, Pearadox, consisting of team members from Turner College and Career, Dawson and Pearland high schools, recently competed in the FIRST Robotics World Championship against teams from across the globe and finished 4th in their division. Pearadox has competed at the World Championship level every year since 2017.

    Pearland ISD congratulates students graduating at the top of their class. District high schools recently released their top 10 graduate lists. These students will be honored in commencement ceremonies at NRG Stadium Friday, May 26.

  • Dawson HS, PJH West and Rogers Middle School students bound for Future Problem Solving International

    Dawson High School, Pearland Junior High West and Rogers Middle School will represent Texas at the 2023 Future Problem Solving Program International Conference to be held June 7-11 in Amherst, Massachusetts. At the Texas State Bowl, DHS took the top spot in Community Problem Solving in the Senior Division as well as three top spots in Global Issue Problem Solving (GIPS). PJH West’s Kara Li won the Individual GIPS competition and Rogers won the GIPS junior team division.

    District celebrates teacher, employee honorees

    Pearland Independent School District proudly celebrated its 2022-23 campus teachers, paraprofessional award winners, employees with 20+ years of service, retirees, principals and employees of the year on Friday, April 29, during the Pearland ISD Star Awards. At the event, the district elementary and secondary teacher award winners were also announced.
