Prior to joining Pearland ISD, Amanda Gordon served as an associate and assistant principal in Crosby ISD, a director of ELA in Spring ISD and an instruction specialist at Galena Park ISD. She began her career in education teaching 8th grade reading and 10th grade English, and brings more than 12 years of experience to the district.
Gordon looks forward to partnering with passionate and talented staff and spending her days with students who are full of energy and curiosity.
“I believe that it is the people that create the heartbeat of a campus,” she said. “I hope to make a difference by harnessing the energy and excitement that comes from new partnerships and turning it into the passion, perseverance and pride that are integral to true achievement.”
Gordon holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in communications Southwestern University.
“It is such a challenging time to be an educator but there are so many small moments throughout each day that bring joy,” Gordon said. “When leading my campus, I am going to be an example of having joy for each day and the chance to tackle any obstacles with positivity.”
