The Pearland Independent School District will welcome Dr. Charles Allen as Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Joseph Cahill as Director of Advanced Academics and Audie Johnson as principal at Pearland Junior High East.

Dr. Charles Allen - Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Dr. Allen will join the Curriculum and Instruction department after serving as principal at Pearland Junior High East for the last seven years. Serving 17 years with Pearland ISD, he is also a former United States Air Force Combat Weather Forecaster and holds a EdD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in teaching from the University of Houston. He looks forward to collaborating within and outside of the C&I department, along with campus administrators and teachers, to enhance the instructional practices and overall learning experience for all students in Pearland ISD.  “My motto is to serve, support and supply. I look forward to creating an environment that promotes success for all students by providing the necessary support, resources, and training to every teacher so they can continue to Build Pearland Proud,” Allen said.

Dr. Joseph Cahill – Director of Advanced Academics

Dr. Cahill joins the Pearland ISD team from Fort Bend ISD. With 18 years of experience in education, he brings with him the leadership and passion to continue building the Advanced Academics department. Dr. Cahill received his Doctor of Education Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction from University of Houston, Clear Lake. “My vision is one that revolves around doing what is best for every learner in Pearland ISD,” he said. “Providing academic support will be coupled with social and emotional support and meeting the behavioral needs of all students. This will pave the path to our students achieving their highest potential in a global society.” Dr. Cahill looks forward to continuing the commitment of serving students as a whole person.

Audie Johnson, Pearland Junior High East Principal

Pearland Junior High East welcomes Audie Johnson as its new principal. Formerly the assistant principal at Pearland High School, he joins the Roughneck family with nearly 30 years in education. Johnson holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. He looks forward to being heavily involved in the Pearland community at a different grade level to help prepare PJH East students to be future Oilers and Railcats. “My motto is ‘We Can and We Will,’ with this, the vision is for staff and students to pursue being better tomorrow than they were today,” Johnson said “We will pursue personal, emotional and academic growth daily. If we have a bad day, that’s ok. Tomorrow we will be better because if ‘We Can, then We Will.”
