Drop-off/ Pick-up Procedues

Dear Pearland JH South parent/guardian:

I am pleased to share the plan for collecting district property (textbooks, library books, classroom books, athletic uniforms/equipment, school-owned band instruments, choir uniforms, etc.) and for parents/students to retrieve any personal items left at the campus (locker contents, personal band instruments, clinic medication, etc.).  Please gather textbooks, library books, and other district property at this time so you are ready for drop-off.  Also, please pay any fees/fines online by May 22.

It is important to conduct this process according to CDC guidelines to protect the health of our employees and community. The following guidelines will be followed:

  • Parents and students will be asked to stay in their car and follow traffic flow signs for Drop-Off and Grab-n-Go item pick-up process.
  • Parents and students are encouraged to wear gloves and face coverings.
  • If you are feeling ill, please do not attend.
  • We expect all participants and staff to maintain social distancing standards.

Please visit the PJH South webpage for a printable traffic flow map for drop off/pick up.

  • Place student full name and grade on passenger side dashboard (a printable dashboard placard can be found on the PJH South website).
  • All vehicles will enter through the main Turner High School entrance on Bailey Road, drive through the parking lot to the PJH South circle drive, and exit by the tennis courts using the McLean Road exit.
  • District item drop off will occur in front of the covered porch area.
  • Parents will then pull forward to the gym entrance to pick up student items.
  • To maintain social distancing, school staff will pick up district items directly from the vehicle and return student items directly to the vehicle.
  • If you drive a car, please pop the trunk.
  • If you drive an SUV, please raise the rear lift gate.
  • If it is safe to do so, items may be placed in the bed of a truck.

Please visit the PJH South webpage for a printable schedule for drop off/pick up.

Parents/students only need to participate once in this process. For example, if you are in an athletic period or fine arts program, you will return all district property and pick up items during the week of May 11-15.

If parents and students only have textbooks or library books to return, a bin has been placed at ESC (1928 N. Main) for your convenience to drop these off between May 4 – May 28.

If you do not have district property or need to retrieve something from the campus, you do not have to participate in the process.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.  We look forward to seeing many of you (from a distance, of course) on the scheduled drop off/pick up days.

Respectfully,

Jason Frerking, Principal
