Pearland Independent School District welcomes Kelly Holt as its Executive Director of High Schools.
Holt has served as Dawson High School principal for six years and has been with Pearland ISD for over 15 years. With more than 30 years dedicated to serving in education, she started her career as a Biology and Chemistry teacher at Deer Park High School, where she taught for 15 years. Upon coming to Pearland, Holt served as an assistant principal at Pearland High School and as the associate principal at DHS.
“My vision is to help high school principals prepare students to meet with success in their future by providing a spectrum of exceptional educational opportunities,” Holt said. “Together, we will develop well-rounded, confident and responsible young adults who aspire to achieve their full potential. I will help create a welcoming, happy, safe and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal and all achievements are celebrated.”
Holt holds a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from University of Houston – Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Houston Baptist University. She looks forward to actively supporting the high schools principals as they work to achieve district goals and campus performance objectives.
“I look forward to helping establish a world-class school district, planning educational programs, establishing district goals and implementing new incentives,” she said. “Additionally, I will provide assistance in the management of teachers, data analysis, curriculum development and professional development programs, as well as help develop assistant principals to become future leaders with high standards of excellence.”
