Pearland Independent School District’s robotics team, Pearadox, recently competed at the FIRST Robotics World Championship against 440 teams. Representing Turner College and Career, Dawson and Pearland high schools, the team received the Judges Award for their service to underrepresented communities and finished 55th in their division.
During the competition, Pearadox hosted two conferences, Girls Get Together and Brilliant Black Builders, which included a panel of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) industry professionals offering mentorship opportunities and ensuring students in FIRST were provided access to networking programs.
The team hopes to continue inspiring future generations to participate in STEM-related education and activities. In addition to their success, the team members mentor junior robotics clubs and teams and hold internships across the city of Pearland Pearadox robotics students have proven they are a world-class team that not only deserves to be recognized for their talent, but for their community efforts as well.
