Education Foundation awards $114,000 to support educational projects

Surprise Patrol        Pearland ISD Education Foundation marked its sixth year of giving by granting $114,583 to 69 educational projects. Classroom ideas and activities are selected through the foundation’s Innovative Teaching Grants Program with the aim to enrich teaching and inspire learning in Pearland ISD. The 2019 innovative grants were awarded in May during its annual Surprize Patrol.

“The foundation is excited to able to award its largest amount of funding to date,” Chief Foundation Officer Natalie Clogston said. “The grant awards invest in ideas that cannot be funded through the district’s operating budget and that will enhance the learning experience for students in Pearland ISD.”

Pearland ISD Education Foundation is supported by charitable donations and fundraising events, including Grown-up Spelling Bee and Evening for Education Gala. Since inception in 2014, the foundation has granted $460,000 to over 300 classroom projects to support innovative learning in Pearland ISD.
