Pearland ISD Education Foundation to Host Weekly Music Livestreams

Friday Night Live While much of the Pearland community has been allowed to re-open at reduced capacity, the school district will remain closed because of the COVID-19 crisis. That means students, teachers, and families are missing traditional end-of-year celebrations such as graduation and prom. In response, Pearland ISD Education Foundation is hosting Friday Night Live, a series of livestream performances to spread joy through music. The virtual concerts will showcase the musical talents of Pearland ISD staff and help to raise funds for teacher grants.

“This was a perfect way to perform for others during this difficult time. I hope that everyone tunes in to enjoy some music,” Friday Night Live performer KC Scarborough said.

“We are deeply saddened about how the school year has ended. Friday Night Live gives our community a fun and unique opportunity to join in our mission for Pearland ISD students and teachers,” Foundation President Melissa Black said.

Friday Night Live hosted by Pearland ISD Education Foundation will feature:

May 8: KC Scarborough, Pearland Junior High West Counselor

May 15: Eric Wells, Assistant Athletic Director

May 22: Roxan Silva, Dawson High School Choir Teacher

May 29: Brittanee Morris, Dawson High School Counselor

Shows start each Friday at 8 p.m. on Facebook Live: @PearlandISDEducationFoundation. Online viewers are encouraged to “tip” the performers by making a tax-deductible contribution to the education foundation. To make a concert donation, please visit www.pearlandisdisd.org/fridaynightlive.
