District goes digital on community flyers

Pearland Independent School District launches new digital flyer communication tool that allows for wide online distribution. The new system combines convenience and safety for parents, with a cost-effective, wider reach for organizations.

With a launch date of November 1, the new flyer management tool, Peachjar, reaches parents through email twice a month and through posting on the district’s website, reaching both in-person and remote learners. The use of the new tool is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to focus resources on education, while also reducing the environmental impact of our activities.

In order to submit digital flyers to Pearland ISD students, organizations must visit the district’s website to create a profile with Peachjar. The district will approve and distribute flyers from organizations that meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The group distributing the literature is identified by the Internal Revenue Service as a nonprofit [501 (c) (3), 501 (c) (4)] organization or the group distributing the literature is an accredited educational institution. Note: Association with a nonprofit organization is NOT sufficient to qualify groups/individuals as a nonprofit organization; therefore, flyers for these groups/individuals will not be approved.
  • Must involve age and/or developmentally appropriate activities for students and must clearly state that the activity is for students.
  • Must support the educational mission of the district, directly benefit the students, or be of intrinsic value to the students or their parents/guardians.
  • Should not contain advertising logos or promotions for any business/organization other than the approved nonprofit submitting the flyer.
