Pearland Independent School District welcomes Moniki Mason as its director of purchasing.
Mason, who most recently served as Pearland ISD’s purchasing coordinator, has been with the district for a total of eight years, having started as a communications coordinator, managing the creation of the Pearland ISD Education Foundation. Prior to that, she worked for Houston Community College, being responsible for their Education Foundation and for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Chicago, managing their fundraising efforts.
Mason holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Southern University and a master’s degree in business administration from Texas Women’s University.
“My vision for my staff is to continue to learn and grow in their position and profession, which will result in our department being good stewards of taxpayer dollars, helping our district to continue to be on the forefront of educating and nurturing the next generation,” she said.
She looks forward to continuing to support campuses, teachers and the goals of the district and helping ensure they have everything necessary to educate our students.
“I have a vested interest in the success of the department and Pearland ISD’s. I have seen the department grow and evolve and I am excited about what has been accomplished and everything we will still accomplish in the future,” Mason said.
