District teachers recognized for innovative classroom design
Pearland Independent School District teachers were recently recognized for their innovative classroom designs through a district competition. The winners were selected based on photo submissions for the most welcoming and exciting classroom.
“We wanted to recognize teachers for their outstanding efforts in making their classrooms fun and inviting for students,” Deputy Superintendent David Moody said.
Winning classrooms included a Harry Potter theme at Sablatura Middle School and Sherlock Holmes theme at Turner College and Career High School.
The classroom design winners were:
Elesha Alexander, Language Arts – Alexander Middle School
Joy Jenkins, English – Dawson High School
Tamara Milliken, Special Education – C.J. Harris Elementary
Susan Green, Library – Lawhon Elementary
Meredith Oliver, Texas History – Pearland Jr. High South
Dana Ferraro, Language Arts – Pearland Jr. High West
Michelle Beicker, Science and Social Studies – Sablatura Middle School
Laura Clark, Forensics Science – Turner College and Career High School
Each winner received a certificate of recognition and a $50 gift card to Good Vibes Burgers and Brews sponsored by the Pearland ISD Education Foundation.
“These teachers exemplify our Education Foundation mission for innovative learning and we celebrate their efforts,” Chief Foundation Officer Natalie Clogston said.
