PJH West students write for right society

Two Pearland Junior High West students qualified as school finalists in this year’s “Do the Write Thing” Challenge in Houston/Harris County.

Numbering among the youth anti-violence program school finalists are seventh-graders Elise Moussier and Rahul Senthil. Their ELA teacher is Jody Kuchta.

Through the challenge, students examine the causes of violence and react in writing, explaining what they think should be done to build a healthy society. Students also commit to make a difference personally through rational thinking and behavior.

This year, nearly 14,000 students from Houston-area school districts wrote about ending the chain of violence. The “Do the Write Thing” Challenge is affiliated with the National Campaign to Stop Violence.
